Kenchikukei Radio
Kenchikukei Radio (Architecture Radio) is the Japanese Internet radio station on the theme of architecture. It began in 2008, and has received attention rapidly as a new media platform on architecture. Now, almost everyday the new programme on Japanese architecture is broadcasted and can also be listened to on podcast.
The core members of Kenchikukei Radio are Japanese architecture critics and young upcoming Japanese architects; Taro Igarashi, Yasuhiro Minami, Shunsuke Kurakata, keisuke Kitagawa, Tatsu Matsuda and Maki Onishi.
The programmes include interview with prominent figures such as Toyo Ito and Cecil Balmond, etc. In addition, we give high priority to present and discuss the various aspects of the Japanese architecture scene, such as the transmission of information from regional cities and the discussion with promising students who have potential to become influential designers, which has rarely been introduced by traditional architectural media.
Some English content has been broadcasted and there are also plans to broadcast in other languages in the near future. Kenchikukei Radio's message to everyone involved in the architecture movement is to look out and lend an ear to Japans new architectural media platform.

Diane Gray, the curator of the Mies van del Rohe Foundation explains on the Mies van del Rohe Award (European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture) and the exhibition in Tokyo which takes place at the Gallery 1 on the 1st floor in Tokyo Gus Shinjuku Park Tower from 21st of January to 11th of February 2009, where we can see many models and panels of the projects which got the prize, nominated to or selected for this prize.
